She was an innovator and an inspiration. Sarah Burke paved the way for a generation of freeskiing women, campaigning for her sport to be recognised at an elite level. She brought women's superpipe to X Games and played a massive role in it becoming an Olympic sport. She skied with passion in her heart and a smile on her face, and lived her life the same way. We will miss her terribly and express our deepest sympathies to her family and friends. The official press release follows...

Competition between ski resorts means one thing...cheap deals for skiers!
This is a Victorian first. Falls Creek and Hotham Alpine Resorts have teamed up to create a dual season pass valid at two resorts for winter 2012 for only $699 for adults. The last time a season pass was priced at or around $699 was in 1989.

Over the past month, the Oakley crew travelled across Australia and to Queenstown in NZ for the Oakley Rebellion Snow Tour. This year’s tour saw snow kids frothin' out in the terrain parks at Mt Hotham, The Remarkables and Perisher, with Oakley pro team riders.

After several days of unprecedented snowfall across New Zealand, the first ski freestyle event of the 100% Pure New Zealand Winter Games was able to go ahead on Wednesday at Cardrona Alpine Resort where USA's Gus Kenworthy and Devin Logan took out the top spots in ski halfpipe. The Rip Curl Freeride Pro enjoyed excellent conditions in the black diamond terrain of Thredbo’s Bluff today. The prestigious event, now in its fifth year, attracted Australia’s best skiers and snowboarders, with aggressive and stylish riding the order of the day.
