It was the August a ski resort CEO would give up their first born for. In total Perisher received 113cm, a 25-year August record for the resort. Considering that on the 22nd of July NSW ski resorts were sitting at the lowest recorded snow depth since 1989, this season has made a bigger come back than tight jeans…

Over at Thredbo the resort is looking fresh and clean after the August falls. Thankfully there’s plenty of snow to make the giant money booter for the Toyota One Hit Wonder event, which kicks off on 14 September.

The Victorian resorts certainly received their fair share. Enthusiastic Falls Creek local Deb Howie made let us know exactly how good it was down there... “I've never seen so much champagne powder snow .... the skiing is awesome!”

Ski resorts across the country are now well and truly set up for the rest of the season. The forecast for the first week of spring is calling for rain and snow showers with heavier falls possibly developing on Saturday. Make sure you get in there while the getting is good.
